Twelve processes
after extrusion

Few components stop at extrusion. Tip geometry, side holes, marker bands, coating and a moulded hub are what turn tubing into a device. Nine secondary processes and three surface treatments are available, each with a note on what it determines.

Testing & Validation

Organises and translates those files to match Korean regulatory requirements.

Certification Assistance

Supports documentation on the basis of its ISO 13485 quality system.

Works the Korean approval process and assembles the submission set.

Mass Production

Runs volume production to standardised processes, with a traceability procedure when quality issues arise.

Tip Forming

up to 70 mm

Shapes the catheter tip for vascular entry. The workable length sets the design envelope.

Depth markings and lot numbers. PEEK requires separate printing pre-treatment.

Hole-Punching

Bonding

Joins dissimilar material segments. One of the ways a stiffness gradient is built.

Diameter Changing

Steps the outer diameter down within one shaft. This is how taper sections are made.

Surface treatment

Making a surface that will not bond, bond

The principal keeps these separate from secondary processing. They are decided before any joining step.

PTFE Etched & Secondary Etched

PTFE is non-polar and will not bond to other materials. Plasma etching lowers the contact angle from 110° to 46°. It holds for over 12 months and can be restored by secondary etching.

PEEK Printing Pre-Treatment

Prepares the PEEK surface so print adheres. Without it, ink lifts off.
