Braided Reinforced Tubing

Metal or fibre braid is placed between two layers by co-extrusion or reflow, raising burst strength, column stiffness and torque transmission. Braid angle, coverage and the reinforcement’s size, shape and strength determine performance. Flat wire runs 0.0005″×0.0025″ to 0.003″×0.007″, braided on 16, 24 or 32 carriers at variable or constant pitch.

Coil Braided & Coil Reinforced Tubing

Coil Reinforced Tubing

A metal or polymer spring coil is integrated between two layers by co-extrusion or reflow, improving burst strength, kink resistance and torsional stability with good pushability. Size range and material families match the braided construction; only the middle layer differs.

What size range is available?

1.7 Fr to 39 Fr — roughly 0.57 mm to 13.0 mm, since 1 Fr equals 1/3 mm.

How do braided and coil differ?

Same size range and material families; the middle layer differs. Braid favours torque and column stiffness, coil favours kink resistance and torsional stability.

Which material combinations are possible?

Outer: PA, PEBAX, TPU, PE, PI. Middle: stainless steel, nitinol, Kevlar®, nylon, LCP. Inner: PTFE, PI, PE, PEBAX, PA, TPU, PEEK.

Can you machine side holes or tapers?

Hole punching, diameter changing and shape setting are available. For precision features such as an Rx port or a multi-step taper, send the drawing for a feasibility answer.

Can you share burst pressure?

No figures are published. Send your target burst pressure and dimensions and we confirm with the plant.
