Secondary Processing

Secondary Processing

From braid and coil reinforcement through tip forming, marker bands, coating and printing. We finish extruded tube to one step short of a finished device.

Surface treatment

Surface Treatment
All surface treatment →

PTFE etched & secondary etched →

PTFE Etched & Secondary Etched

PTFE will not bond to other polymers as-is. A reagent-free etch activates the surface so liners can be reflowed to an outer layer. The effect holds up to 12 months; older liners are recovered with a secondary etch.

PEEK printing pre-treatment →

PEEK Printing Pre-Treatment

Ink will not hold on untreated PEEK. A chemical-free pre-treatment raises surface adhesion so graduations and markings stay put.

Laser conformal →

Medical Catheter Laser Conformal

A focused high-energy laser conformally removes or adds surface material, changing micro and macro surface behaviour. Conditions are designed per material and the process scales to mass production.

One order, start to finish

One Order
Accountability
One number to call

When extrusion, braiding and coating sit with three different suppliers, anything that goes wrong starts with an argument about whose fault it is. Run the whole process with us and there is one place to call and one place that answers for it.

Quality
It never leaves the plant

Extruded tubing moves straight to the next line and finishes secondary processing in the same ISO 7 cleanroom. Nothing is packed, shipped or unloaded in between, so there is that much less to contaminate the part or move the dimensions.

Lead time
It arrives finished

No taking delivery of bare tubing, then finding a local finisher and lining up their schedule. It ships with tip forming and printing already done.

What to mark on the drawing

On Your Drawing
Tip forming · taper

Mark the outer diameter at start and end, the transition length, and the end shape (round / flat / angled). Formed length can go up to 70 mm.

Hole punching

Distance from a datum, circumferential angle, hole diameter and count. For standard arrays such as PIG 8-hole or Straight 6-hole, the name alone is enough.

Marker band · printing

Marker material (Pt-Ir and so on), position and width. For printing, specify graduation spacing, type size and colour and we run it by laser or ink transfer.

Coating

Coated section (full length / distal N mm), and the friction coefficient or wet duration you need. If the purpose is PTFE bonding, tell us whether to etch.

Dimensions, material, application. Those three are enough to start. A drawing makes it faster.
